iii) FERTIGATION MIXTURE (Super Plus C) |
| |
This totally soluble mixture which is suitable for micro irrigation (drip / sprinkler) systems, has proved to be very effective. |

iv) MICRO NUTRIENT SUPPLEMENT |
| |
BORACOL BSF 11 - Which consists of Zn, Cu, Mn, Mo, Fe, B should be applied along with the fertilizer at the following rates for optimum results.
Young Palms - 100g per palm every 6 months
Bearing Palms - 600g palm per year |
RATE OF APPLICATION OF MIXTURES FOR ADULT COCONUT PLANTS
Rate of application of mixtures for adult palms would vary with the soil type and climate. The following table could be used as a guide in determining the appropriate does for cultivations yielding around 3000 nuts per acre per year.

METHOD OF FERTILIZER APPLICATION
| In the early stages (up to 1 1/2 years) fertilizer should be broadcast close to the palm covering the entire circle up to a distance of 0.3 meters (about 1') from the base and incorporated into the soil. As the palm grows older this area should be gradually extended up to about 1.5 meters (about 5') at the time of flowering. |
 |
On slopes, fertilizer should be applied on the upper side of the manure circle and incorporated into the soil.
Manure circle area should always be mulched.
|
 |
FREQUENCY OF APPLICATION
Young Palms : At least half - yearly application of fertilizer is recommended. When circumstances permit, quarterly application may be adopted with advantage, particularly on sandy soils subject to heavy rainfall during the monsoons.
Adult Palms : Fertilizer application should be carried out annually. In areas where both monsoons prevail and particularly on sandy soils, half yearly application with each monsoon may be adopted with advantage. To realize the full benefits of fertilizer application along with organic manure, appropriate soil/water conservation techniques are essential.
