CIC Agri Businesses, a key player in Sri Lanka’s Agriculture sector has ventures into the marketing of Agricultural Machinery following a tie-up with Siam Engineering, Thailand, sole agents for Kaset Phattana branded Agriculture Machinery.

The market leader for a range of Agriculture Machinery in Thailand, Siam Engineering will also be responsible for training employees under the agreement signed with CIC Agri Businesses. Accordingly CIC Agri Businesses will initially begin the marketing of a high capacity Combine thresher.

According to a company spokesman, the Kaset Phattana Combine thresher is capable of efficiently threshing and winnowing paddy over a wide range of moisture levels, with a high threshing capacity of upto 10 tons per hour and a low power requirement. The machine is compact and capable of accepting a continuous flow of hand fed paddy. The thresher has a high mobility and capacity, easy to operate and a low requirement. Already the company has sold more than 1500 threshers.

CIC Agri Businesses imported these high capacity mechanical threshers from Thailand to Sri Lanka in 2000. The mechanical threshers are currently being used in their two farms at Hingurakgoda and Pelwehera.
